Buttler's England Cruise to Victory
England raced to a dominant seven-wicket win against the West Indies in the second T20 International at Kensington Oval and a 2 - 0 series lead.
A 129 run partnership between Jos Buttler (83) and Will Jacks (38) helped the visistors complete a crushing victory with 5.1 overs remaining.
Buttler’s 25th half century in T20 International cricket and first since a four month injury break contained eight fours and six sixes.
Jacks and Buttler ultimately fell in the same Romario Shepherd over, only for Liam Livingstone (23*) and Jacob Bethell (3*) to calmly see England home.
The hosts only managed to scrape to 158 - 8, as England chipped away continually throughout their innings.
Saqib Mahmood struck twice in the Power Play once again, helping reduce the West Indies to 35 - 3.
Despite a more cautious approach from the hosts, England’s spinners kept a lid on their scoring and only captain Rovman Powell passed 30 with a patient 43.
32 runs came from the final two overs to boost the West Indies to a decent total, but England’s rampant victory allowed them to claim a 2 - 0 series lead, before the series moves to Saint Lucia on Thursday.
